WES statement on Covid-19

Monaco (P.ty), Monday 16 March 2020 – Due to this unprecedented and continuously evolving global situation related to the Covid-19 pandemic disease and according to the UCI statement diffused yesterday, Sunday 15 March, WES Management announces that the 2020 racing season is temporarily suspended until further notice.

The decision was made in coordination with local authorities, WES Partners and Local Promoters to ensure the health protection and security of Athletes, Teams, Media, Spectators, as well as the WES Staff and Collaborators involved in the events organisation. 

The resolution adopted affects both the UCI E-Mountain Bike XC World Cup and the WES Gravity races.

To put the WES Series on hold is the most responsible course of action from a global organiser perspective, being people safety of the utmost importance.

Along with the UCI, Union Cycliste Internationale, the global governing body of cycling, WES Management will constantly monitor the evolution of the disease spread to evaluate proper options to reschedule the suspended events.
