Monaco (P.ty), Tuesday 1 October 2024 – It’s time to crown the World Cup Winners in both WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup categories (Men and Women), with Col de Turini hosting the Monaco Alpes-Maritimes Round Presented by Magneti Marelli Checkstar, in collaboration with the Monegasque Cycling Federation, as a witness.
2023 Monaco Round Race 1 Start
On October 5-6, electric bikes will ride the scenic Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, in France. Col de Turini is known for its sharp turns and elevations reaching up to 1,607 meters, having previously hosted the FIA World Rally Championship, the Tour de France, and now the WES UCI E-MTB XC World Cup.
The racetrack is designed by WES between the two communes of Moulinet and La Bollène Vésubie, great scenario with enduro, demanding features and the traditional format of E-XC with clockwise and anticlockwise races on the same course.
The Men’s World Cup will come down to a showdown between the Reigning World Champ and World Cup Winner, Jérôme Gilloux (Lapierre Overvolt) with 140 points, and Swiss Champ Joris Ryf (Specialized), with 122.

Both riders are coming off a tightly contested event at Spa-Francorchamps, leaving just an 18-point gap between them, with 50 points available.
On the Women’s side, Anna Spielmann (Haibike) currently leads with 130 points, closely followed by World Champion Sofia Wiedenroth (Specialized) with 91.
This rivalry sets the stage for a competition that could see either of them become a first-time World Cup Winner, with 39 out of 50 points up for grabs.

In the WES grand finale, everyone will be watching as riders vie for supremacy, and the ultimate winners will be determined on the challenging course of Col de Turini’s last event.
Meanwhile, as the World Cup takes center stage in the final round, amateur riders will be challenging themselves on the same circuit during a high-impact race on October 5.
The Awards presentation ceremony will take place for the first time at the magnificent amphitheatre in the Port of Ventimiglia, on the Italian border, which is part of the Ports of Monaco, with the spectacular backdrop of the bay. Once again, bubbles and celebration for the protagonists of another exciting racing season getting to an end.
